This work along with that of other artists was commissioned by the Mourlot Press to commemorate “Prints from the Mourlot Press” a travelling exhibition organised by the Smithsonian and the French Embassy in Washington DC. An excellent example of the de Stijl art movement, albeit a very late one, the general consensus is that the movement, championed by Mondrian, was well and truly over by the end of WWII.
