Furlonger was an Archibald Prize winner (Portraiture) and is one of Australia’s best known artists. He works on paper as well as with paint to document fleeting moments of a unique, often barren landscape. This is an outstanding example of the dry point technique: the burr left from the action of the burin, the result of the marking made against the copper during the drawing process making for a superb impression of roses in a glass vase. A very small edition of only 10 were made.
