The major retrospective in France of this important Post War French artist is evidence of the important role that Pillet played in the area of geometric abstraction. A close examination of the works on offer here suggest that Pillet’s oeuvre remained committed to work devoid of anthropomorphic forms, revelling instead in the colour and shape to fill his canvases. The pochoirs on offer here are outstanding value and are representative of Pillet’s style and tonal ranges.
