Gloeckner was born in Germany, and graduated from University with degrees in mathematics and Art history. He trained under Otto Dix, and where his work was influenced by Paul Klee. His arrangement and use of geometric patterns of colour is highly suggestive of this influence. After WWII, Gloeckner moved to New York where he refined his palette and extended his oeuvre by successfully working in printmaking. This, and the other screen print in Salon’s inventory, is evidence of such artistic talent. This work and another very similar to this are unframed and will remain as such. Potential buyers may request the works to be framed and for the paper to be stabilised to prevent further foxing from spreading.
